01 Why an excavator

For the heavy end of the groundwork

When a project calls for a large volume of earth to be opened, cut back or carried off, the excavator is usually the machine that sets the pace for every trade that follows.

Its boom and arm reach well past the tracks, and the whole upper body turns on its base, so the operator can dig, swing and drop the load onto a pile or into a truck while the machine stays put. Steel tracks spread its weight and keep it planted on loose sand, broken rock and the sloped lots found all over Los Cabos.

Creatio rents the excavator straight from its own fleet, so you arrange everything with the company that owns the machine. If the job also needs trucks to haul soil away, a backhoe for smaller trenches or a load of base material, we can line those up for the same site. It is one piece of our wider construction equipment rental in Los Cabos.

02 The excavator fleet

One machine, the CAT 320GC

Our excavator category holds a single unit. It belongs to Creatio and leaves our Cabo San Lucas base for every rental job, so the machine you see here is the machine you book.

Unit 01 Hydraulic crawler excavator

CAT 320GC

A CAT hydraulic excavator on steel tracks, suited to foundation digs, ditches, earthworks and infrastructure jobs on residential, commercial and industrial sites.

It is the machine we put forward when a job involves a foundation dig, a long drainage run, a cut into a hillside or a large amount of soil to relocate or load onto trucks.

Operator available on request. Rent it alone, or book it together with a Creatio operator who knows the machine.

Looking for exact figures? We keep technical numbers off this page and prefer to confirm them on the machine itself. If your plans depend on reach, digging depth or weight, send us the question and we will confirm the number before anything is booked.

03 What it is used for

When an excavator is the right call

If your project includes any of this work, an excavator for construction projects of your size is worth a conversation with us.

  1. Foundation excavation

Opening the footprint for the foundations of houses, villas and commercial buildings before the structural work starts.

  2. Ditches and drainage

Long runs for storm water, water supply and sewer lines, or channels that carry runoff away from a property.

  3. Bulk earthmoving

Digging out and relocating large quantities of soil, sand and rock when a site has to be reshaped.

  4. Preparing sloped lots

Cutting back a hillside and shaping level ground on the steep and uneven terrain common across the region.

  5. Loading trucks

Filling dump trucks with excavated material so it leaves the site, or handling fill delivered for later stages.

  6. Roads and subdivisions

Earthworks for streets, utility corridors and new developments where the digging spreads across a wide area.

04 Choosing the machine

Excavator or backhoe?

Both machines dig, but they suit different jobs. These pointers help, and we are happy to make the call with you.

Choose the excavator when

  • The dig is deep, long or large in volume
  • The machine can work from one spot and swing to load
  • The ground is loose, rocky or steep
  • Excavated soil should go straight into trucks

A backhoe may be enough when

  • Small digging tasks alternate with loading and backfill
  • The machine has to move around the lot all day
  • Trenches are short and the property is compact

05 Why rent from Creatio

Rent from the people who own the machine

Heavy equipment rental in Los Cabos works best when the company quoting the excavator also understands the construction around it.

  • 10+

More than ten years of construction experience

We can talk through the job itself, not only the machine, and point out what the dig means for the stages that come after it.

  • Our own equipment

The CAT 320GC belongs to Creatio. Your booking is handled directly by us, never passed on to another rental company.

  • Excavator with operator, or without

Take the machine with one of our trained employees at the controls, or run it with your own team.

  • Related work in one place

Dump trucks, backhoes, aggregates and construction crews can all be booked for the same project.

  • Honest advice on equipment

If another machine from our fleet fits your project better, we will tell you before you book.

06 Operator option

Operator available on request

Some customers have an experienced operator on their own team. Others would rather leave the controls to us. Either way works, and the choice is yours.

Option A

Machine only

You rent the CAT 320GC and someone from your own crew runs it on site.

Option B

Machine with a Creatio operator

Need an operator? We can provide one of our trained equipment operators, a Creatio employee who knows our machines, to run the excavator on your project.

An operator is never added automatically. Mention it when you ask for a quote so the plan and the price take it into account.

09 FAQ

Excavator rental questions

Answers to the questions customers raise most before booking the CAT 320GC.

Which excavator does Creatio rent?

We rent a CAT 320GC, a hydraulic excavator that runs on crawler tracks. It is the only excavator in our fleet, and Creatio owns it outright.

What kinds of projects is the CAT 320GC used for?

Excavation and earthworks on residential, commercial and industrial sites, digging for building foundations, ditches and drainage channels, and infrastructure jobs such as streets, utilities and new subdivisions.

Can I rent the excavator with an operator?

Yes. An operator is available on request, and that person is a Creatio employee trained on our machines. If you already have someone to run it, you can also rent the excavator on its own.

How do I know if an excavator suits my job?

You do not have to work it out alone. Describe the work, the approximate size of the area and the way into the site. From there we can say if the excavator suits the job or if a backhoe, a skid steer or another unit from our fleet would do it better.

Is an excavator a good choice when building a house?

Often, yes, particularly when the foundation dig is large, the lot sits on a slope or a lot of soil has to come out. For a smaller residential job a backhoe may be all you need, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Can you bring the excavator to my job site?

Yes. The excavator travels to you from Cabo San Lucas on a transport we arrange. What that move costs comes down to how far the site is, the roads on the way and how the machine gets onto your lot, and it is listed in your quote. Sharing an address or a pin on the map helps us work it out.

What details help you prepare an excavator quote?

The location of the project, the type of work, your preferred start date, an estimate of how long you will need the machine and whether you would like one of our operators. Photos, plans and notes about access make the quote more accurate.

What rental periods are possible for the excavator?

The rental length is agreed for each project. Give us your best estimate of the duration in days or weeks, and if the schedule moves once digging starts, let us know as soon as you can.

How do I check whether the excavator is available?

Phone us, send a WhatsApp, drop us an email or fill in the contact page, listing the dates you have in mind. We confirm current availability when we reply, because the calendar changes as other projects start and finish.

Is the excavator available in San José del Cabo and other parts of Los Cabos?

Yes. Besides Cabo San Lucas, we accept excavator requests from San José del Cabo, from every other part of Los Cabos. Projects farther out are welcome too, including La Ribera and Los Barriles on the East Cape, plus Todos Santos.

Can I add other Creatio services to my excavator rental?

Yes. Customers often add our dump trucks to haul the excavated soil, gravel and sand from our aggregates service, or our construction team for the foundations and structure that come after the dig.

Can I see technical specifications for the CAT 320GC?

We keep technical figures off this page. If a reach, a digging depth or a weight affects your plans, tell us which one and we will verify it on the CAT 320GC before you book.
