01 Why a skid steer

Small machine, big share of the site work

Plenty of jobs never need a large machine. They need one that fits through the gate, turns in its own length and keeps material moving all day.

That is the role of a skid steer for construction. On a residential plot squeezed between walls, an urban street with no room to spare or an industrial yard full of stockpiles, a compact loader can shift earth, carry supplies to where the crew needs them and smooth the ground ready for the next trade.

Our skid steer belongs to Creatio, so the people who quote it are the people who own and look after it. Need more than one machine? The same request can cover a backhoe, a dump truck or a load of aggregates, all part of our construction equipment rental in Los Cabos.

02 The skid steer fleet

Meet the CAT 262D3

We keep one skid steer for rent. Because it is a single, known machine, the loader in these photos is exactly the one that arrives at your site.

Put it to work on

  • Loading and unloading on construction and civil jobs
  • Light excavation and ground leveling
  • Residential, urban and industrial projects

CAT 262D3

A compact CAT skid steer loader from our own fleet, suited to moving earth and material in confined spaces, loading and unloading on construction sites, light excavation and leveling ground.

Customers book it when the work is close quarters and constant: feeding material to a crew, clearing a path for deliveries, or leveling a pad where a larger loader would spend more time repositioning than working.

Operator available on request. Take the loader on its own, or have one of our operators run it for you.

03 Where it helps

Jobs that suit a skid steer

If your list of tasks looks like this, a compact loader will probably save you time and space on site.

  1. Earth moving in tight spaces

Relocating soil and sand inside a walled lot, a courtyard or a narrow strip beside an existing building.

  2. Loading and unloading

Getting gravel, sand and other materials off delivery trucks and over to the spot where the work is happening.

  3. Light excavation

Shallow digging and trimming that does not justify bringing a backhoe or an excavator onto the property.

  4. Leveling ground

Spreading and smoothing fill so a pad, a driveway base or a work area is even before the next step.

  5. Homes and small lots

Residential builds where neighbors, walls and parked cars leave little room for heavy equipment to turn.

  6. Urban and industrial sites

Street side work and yards with stockpiles, where a nimble machine keeps material flowing between crews.

04 Choosing the machine

Skid steer, backhoe or excavator?

Each of our machines has its own strengths. Here is a quick way to see where the skid steer fits, and we are glad to make the final call with you.

Pick the skid steer when

  • Access is narrow or the lot is crowded
  • Most of the work is carrying, loading and spreading
  • Any digging is shallow
  • The machine needs to turn often in a small area

Look at a backhoe when

  • Trenches and footings are part of the job
  • You want digging and loading from one machine

Look at the excavator when

  • The dig is deep or the volume is large
  • Soil has to go straight into trucks

09 FAQ

Skid steer rental FAQ

Straight answers to what people usually ask before they book the CAT 262D3.

Which skid steer does Creatio rent?

Our skid steer is a CAT 262D3 compact loader. It is the only skid steer we offer for rent, and it belongs to Creatio rather than to an outside rental partner.

What projects are skid steers useful for?

They earn their keep where space is short: shifting soil and material around a confined lot, loading and unloading supplies on building and civil sites, shallow digging, and evening out ground before the following phase begins.

Is the CAT 262D3 suitable for residential work?

Yes. Homes are one of the settings this loader is meant for, alongside urban and industrial sites. Its small frame helps on narrow plots, between existing walls and on streets where there is little room for big machinery.

Can I rent the skid steer with an operator?

Yes, as an option. Ask for an operator in your request and we assign a trained Creatio staff member who works with our fleet to run the loader on your site.

Can I rent the skid steer without an operator?

Yes. Plenty of customers have a capable operator on their own crew and take the machine by itself. Just mention in your request that your team will be at the controls.

How do I know whether a skid steer or a backhoe is better for my project?

A skid steer suits compact sites and work that is mostly carrying, loading and spreading material. A backhoe adds a rear digging arm for trenches and deeper holes. Send us a short description and a few photos, and we will recommend one machine, or both if the job really needs them.

Can you transport the skid steer to my job site?

Yes. We organize the move from Cabo San Lucas, the loader's home base. The price of that trip reflects the distance, the route and how easily the trailer reaches your lot, and it appears as its own line in your quote.

What should I include in a quote request?

Five details help most: where the site is, what the skid steer will be doing, when you hope to start, the length of time you expect it on site, and a yes or no on our operator. Photos of the entrance to the lot are a welcome extra.

For how long can I keep the skid steer?

We set the rental period with you for each job. Share your best guess in your request, and keep us posted if the plan shifts once work is underway.

Can the skid steer travel to San José del Cabo or farther out?

Yes. We take skid steer jobs in San José del Cabo, in Cabo San Lucas and across the rest of the municipality, and also farther out on the East Cape near La Ribera or Los Barriles, plus Todos Santos on the Pacific side.

How do I check availability?

Reach us by phone, WhatsApp, email or the contact page with your preferred dates. We tell you whether the skid steer is free when we answer, since its calendar shifts with other bookings.

Can the skid steer be booked alongside other Creatio services?

Yes. The skid steer pairs well with a backhoe or the excavator for heavier digging, a dump truck to haul material away, aggregates for fill and base, or our builders for the work that follows.
